Authorities say a young New York girl survived a four-story fall from a Florida hotel balcony.

Orange County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Ginette Rodriguez says the girl was not seriously injured when she landed Saturday night in some bushes at the Marriott Grande Vista hotel in Orlando.

Orange County Fire Rescue spokesman John Mulhall says the girl is either 2 or 3 years old. Her name has not been released.

Rodriguez tells the Orlando Sentinel that the girl's parents were in another part of the hotel and had left her with another adult relative. The family was visiting from New York.

Rodriguez says the sheriff's office and Florida's Department of Children and Families are investigating. She says charges may be filed but the girl's fall appears to have been accidental.
