Authorities say DNA tests prove kidnapping and rape suspect Ariel Castro fathered the 6-year-old girl who escaped with her mother and two other women who had been imprisoned in a house for about a decade in Cleveland.

Tests on Castro's DNA sample confirmed he fathered the girl, who was rescued from his house along with the women. His DNA profile is now entering a national database to see if it links him to other crimes.

Castrol is jailed on rape and kidnapping charges.

Members of Castro's extended family have come forward to describe what they say is the suspect's history of paranoia and anger, including violent outbursts against the mother of his children.

In interviews, the relatives detailed claims that Castro frequently beat his common-law wife, often played strange psychological games and locked her inside the house.
