Two people are in custody and one person was killed by police after a bank robbery Friday led to a manhunt spanning through suburban Boston, myFOXboston.com reported.

Sources say police are still searching for additional suspects from the robbery at the Saugusbank branch in Saugus on Friday afternoon and a subsequent carjacking in Malden, in Boston's northern suburbs, the station reported.

State Police spokesman David Procopio told the Boston Globe that one suspect was killed in a wild shootout with police in Malden, where he and two others had fled following the robbery.

Armed SWAT teams were continuing to search the area late Friday night for more suspects.

"Police are starting to go through neighborhoods around the scene, clearing backyards and unattended vehicles, checking sheds and wooded areas," Procopio said.
