SALT LAKE CITY – Deron Williams scored 26 points, reserve C.J. Miles added 20 and the Utah Jazz cruised to a 121-99 victory Friday night over the hapless Cleveland Cavaliers.
The win was the third straight for Utah, while the Cavaliers (8-31) have lost 12 in a row, 26 of their last 29 and 18 straight on the road.
Antawn Jamison scored 26 points for the injury-riddled Cavs, who used only eight players. They were coming off the worst loss in franchise history, a 112-57 humiliation in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
While not as one-sided, Friday's game was effectively decided in the second quarter when Utah went on a 14-0 run to take a 49-31 lead. The Jazz led 70-50 at halftime.
The Cavs cut it to 89-83 in the third on a 3-pointer by Jamison with 2:16 left. But Miles hit another 3 and Mehmet Okur added a free throw to give Utah a 93-83 lead entering the fourth.
The Jazz scored the first four points of the period to put the game away.
As in the past, Utah's reserves provided the biggest spark.
Miles started the second-quarter run with a 3-pointer, then Earl Watson and Andrei Kirilenko brought the crowd to its feet with consecutive behind-the-back passes before Ronnie Price finished the play with a layup.
After Miles scored again, Price stole the ball in the backcourt. It ended up back in Miles' hands, and his authoritative dunk over Samardo Samuels gave Utah a 44-31 lead. Price followed with a 3-pointer and Kirilenko a jumper to cap the run.
The Jazz had six players score in double figures.
Raja Bell, Al Jefferson and Kirilenko scored 15 each, while Paul Millsap added 11 points.
The Cavs got back in the game in the third quarter behind the shooting of Jamison and J.J. Hickson. Jamison had 14 points in the quarter and Hickson nine.
Hickson finished with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, while Jamison went 4 of 7 from beyond the arc.
Notes: Utah's 70 first-half points were a season high. ... The Jazz shot 61.7 percent in the first half.
