Aston Villa midfielder Marc Albrighton will be sidelined for the first two months of the Premier League season with a broken metatarsal bone in his foot.

Albrighton, 22, suffered the injury in preseason training and will not likely return until October. He appeared in 26 league matches last season and had two goals and two assists.

Aston Villa was already without striker Gabriel Agbonlahor because of a knee injury and defender Richard Dunne because of groin surgery. Both of them will also miss the start of the season.

Villa opens the season at West Ham on Aug. 18.
