Eden Prairie, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Vikings linebacker Desmond Bishop was placed on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier had announced Monday that Bishop suffered the injury in Sunday's 35-10 loss to the Panthers.
Bishop missed all of the 2012 season with the Green Bay Packers due to a hamstring injury. He spent his first six seasons with the Packers.
Minnesota signed wide receiver Rodney Smith to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. Safety Brandan Bishop was signed to the practice squad.
