Milan, Italy (SportsNetwork.com) - Chelsea forward Fernando Torres looks set to leave Stamford Bridge as the Blues announced Friday a fee has been agreed to send Torres on a two-year loan to AC Milan.
The Spain international's move is now subject to him agreeing to a new contract with AC Milan and passing a physical before it can become official.
The former Liverpool and Atletico Madrid man joined Chelsea in 2011 from Liverpool for a then-British record transfer fee of 50 million pounds.
He has scored 20 goals in 110 appearances during his tenure in West London, finding regular first-team appearances difficult to come by.
His prospects for regular first-team time were further hampered this summer by the arrival of Diego Costa and Didier Drogba.
Milan will be hoping Torres can rediscover his attacking prowess as a replacement for Mario Balotelli, who left to join Liverpool last week.
"Torres is certainly an important forward and we will see if we can sign him," Milan vice president Adriano Galliani told the club's official website.
