Philadelphia, PA – PGA TOUR - CIMB CLASSIC, The MINES Resort & Golf Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The PGA Tour is in Asia for the next two weeks and first up will be the CIMB Classic.
Already riding the good feelings of coming back as the defending champion, Bo Van Pelt gave himself even more momentum entering this week with a win last weekend on the European Tour.
Van Pelt held off fellow American Jason Dufner for the title at the Perth International.
Armed with momentum from that win, Van Pelt heads to Malaysia, where he fired four rounds in the 60s last year en route to a 6-stroke win. His total of 261 beat Ben Crane's total of 266 from the previous year.
This is the third year of the tournament and has drawn some big names. Topping that list is world No. 2 Tiger Woods.
Woods is among 10 players that won this season on the PGA Tour in this week's field. Joining Woods and Van Pelt at The MINES Resort & Golf Club are Bill Haas, Nick Watney and Kyle Stanley along with Seung-Yul Noh, Trevor Immelman and Carl Pettersson.
The 48-player field will include 30 PGA Tour players, the top 10 available from the Asian Tour Order of Merit and eight sponsor exemptions, including two Malaysian professionals - Danny Chia and Shaaban Hussin.
The tournament is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour, Asian Tour and Professional Golf Association of Malaysia.

The PGA Tour, along with the European Tour, will be in China next week for the final World Golf Championship event of the year, the WGC-HSBC Champions. Martin Kaymer matched the course record with a final-round 63 last year, which helped him earn a 3-stroke win over Fredrik Jacobsen.
EUROPEAN TOUR
BMW MASTERS, Lake Malaren Golf Club, Shanghai, China - The European Tour tees it up at its second straight new event this week with the BMW Masters.
There is a top-heavy field with three of the top-4 players in the world competing at Lake Malaren Golf Club.
European Ryder Cup teammates Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood -- world Nos. 1, 3 and 4 -- will be joined in the field by compatriots Nicolas Colsaerts, Peter Hanson, Paul Lawrie, Graeme McDowell, Ian Poulter, Martin Kaymer and Francesco Molinari.
While 10 of the 12 European Ryder Cup players are competing, so is their captain Jose Maria Olazabal and two of his vice captains Miguel Angel Jimenez and Darren Clarke.
The field will have 78 players, 60 from the European Tour, 14 from the Chinese Golf Association and four invitees.

The European Tour joins the PGA Tour in Shenzhen next week for the WGC-HSBC Champions. Martin Kaymer got by Fredrik Jacobsen by three shots last year, thanks in part to a final-round 63.
PGA OF AMERICA
GRAND SLAM OF GOLF, Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton, Bermuda - Two of the four majors champions are in the field this week for this 36-hole shootout.
Masters winner Bubba Watson and U.S. Open champ Webb Simpson are in Bermuda this week to take on Padraig Harrington and Keegan Bradley in this 2-day event.
British Open winner Ernie Els withdrew due to an ankle injury and was replaced by Padraig Harrington. PGA Champion Rory McIlroy is playing in China this week so he'll skip this event. McIlroy was replaced by last year's Grand Slam winner Keegan Bradley.
Bradley, the 2011 PGA Champion, shot 4-under 138 to win by one over last year's Masters winner Charl Schwartzel.
Harrington lost this event twice in a playoff. He fell to Angel Cabrera in 2007 and Jim Furyk in '08.

LPGA TOUR
SUNRISE LPGA TAIWAN CHAMPIONSHIP, Sunrise Golf & Country Club, Taoyuan, Taiwan - Coming off her best finish since April, women's world No. 1 Yani Tseng will defend her title this week at the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship.
The Taiwan native went 11-under par over the final two rounds last year to win by five shots over Amy Yang and Azahara Munoz.
Tseng started the year on fire, but cooled dramatically. Last weekend, she missed the playoff by one shot at Sky 72 Golf Club. Tseng started the event with a 67, but that was just her second round in the 60s in her last 16 rounds.
Her third-place finish was her best finish since she took third at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in April.
Golf Channel has tape-delayed coverage of all four rounds.
The LPGA Tour wraps up its Asian swing next week with the Mizuno Classic. Momoko Ueda beat Shanshan Feng last year to win the title for a second time.
CHAMPIONS TOUR
AT&T CHAMPIONSHIP, TPC San Antonio (AT&T Canyons Course), San Antonio, Texas - Fred Couples cruised to a 7-stroke win last year over Mark Calcavecchia, but the defending champion will not be in the field this week.
Couples' ever aching back has been acting up again recently, and it forced him to withdraw from this event.
Last year, Couples used a course-record tying 62 in the second round to take a 7-shot lead into the final round. Couples, and the next three players on the leaderboard, all closed with 66s as Couples earned his sixth Champions Tour title.
He picked up his seventh and eighth wins earlier this year, but won't be able to get his ninth this week due to his bad back.
This is the final full-field event of the year as just the top 30 on the Charles Schwab Cup points list make next week's field.

The Charles Schwab Cup Championship will take place next week in a new locations, The Cochise Course at Desert Mountain in Scottsdale. Jay Don Bake won the title by two strokes at Harding Park last year.
WEB.COM TOUR
WEB.COM TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP, TPC Craig Ranch, McKinney, Texas - The battle for the top 25 spots on the money list comes to a head this week with the Web.com Tour Championship.
The top 60 on the money list qualified for this week's event, but just the top 25 will earn their PGA Tour cards following this tournament.
The $1 million purse guarantees that any player in the field can move inside the top 25 with a win or a solo second-place finish.
Casey Wittenberg leads the money list by over $22,000, but anyone ranked second to 13th on that list could pass Wittenberg with a win at TPC Craig Ranch.
Ken Duke won by two strokes over Scott Brown last year. Neither player is in the field this week as both played on the PGA Tour this season. Duke is currently 57th on that money list, while Brown is 144th after making just seven cuts all season.
The busy Golf Channel will have two hours of coverage all four days this week.
This is the final event of the season on the Web.com Tour.
