Tulsa, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tulsa Shock relieved Gary Kloppenburg of his duties as head coach on Tuesday.

Kloppenburg spent two seasons with the Shock, guiding the club to an overall mark of 20-49. Tulsa finished last in the Western Conference this past season with a record of 11-23.

"The ownership group is very appreciative of Coach Kloppenburg's efforts the last two seasons," said owner managing partner Sam Combs III in a statement. "This was a difficult decision for the franchise. Coach Kloppenburg and his staff have been instrumental in helping to move this team forward. He is a man of character and we wish him success in his future endeavors. Ultimately it comes down to wins and losses."

Kloppenburg joined the Shock after spending four seasons as an assistant with Indiana.

The Shock also said Kloppenburg's assistants were dismissed.
