Rockies pitching coach reassigned by request

Denver, CO – The Colorado Rockies said Tuesday that pitching coach Bob Apodaca was reassigned within the organization per his own request.

Apodaca was named special assistant to general manager Dan O'Dowd.

In his place, the Rockies named bullpen coach Jim Wright and Triple-A Colorado Springs pitching coach Bo McLaughlin co-pitching coaches.

They said McLaughlin will focus on the team's starting pitchers while Wright will continue to work with relievers.
