NEW YORK (Reuters) - Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh has been fined $15,000 by the NFL for "impermissible verbal and physical contact" with an official, the league said Tuesday.

Harbaugh hit line judge Ron Marinucci in the chest while demonstrating how Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs had come in contact with Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer during a questionable roughing-the-passer call in Sunday's 15-10 loss to Cincinnati, the Baltimore Sun reported on its website (www.baltimoresun.com).

"I was a little animated," Harbaugh told a news conference on Monday. "I'll make sure that I let him (Marinucci) know that I think I was over the line in my animation without question, and that's never something you want to do."
