Pierre Miller scored 14 points and Presbyterian defeated Charleston Southern 61-48 on Saturday night.

Presbyterian led 29-24 at halftime and could not pull away until the final 5 minutes. Leading 50-44 with 4:06 to play, the Blue Hose went on an 11-1 run to put the game out of reach at 61-45 with 1:05 left. Two free throws by Ryan Hargrave capped the rally.

Khalid Mutakabbir added 13 points for the Blue Hose (11-16, 5-10 Big South Conference).

For Charleston Southern, it was the lowest point total since scoring 39 points in an opening-season loss to Georgia Tech.

The Blue Hose, the top 3-point shooting team in the conference, shot 48 percent (24 of 50) from the field, including 8 of 18 from beyond the arc.

Jeremy Sexton scored 14 points for the Buccaneers (13-14, 7-8), who lost for the fourth time in the past five games.
