INDIANAPOLIS (Reuters) - Scottie Pippen, a winner of six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, and 14-times All-Star Karl Malone, were selected in the Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2010 on Monday.

Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss and the 1960 and 1992 gold medal U.S. Olympic basketball teams, were also included in the class announced at the Final Four of the NCAA's collegiate basketball tournament in Indianapolis.

Pippen appeared in seven All-Star games during a 17-year career in the National Basketball Association where he won six championships playing in Chicago with Michael Jordan, who was elected to the Hall last year.

Both Pippen and Malone won Olympic gold medals as part of the U.S. Olympic basketball teams in 1992 and 1996.

Finalists needed 18 of 24 votes from the Honors Committee for election into the Springfield, Mass., hall. The class will be enshrined on August 13.
