The Pittsburgh Penguins added depth at center before Wednesday's trade deadline, acquiring Marcel Goc from the Florida Panthers for a pair of draft picks.

Pittsburgh surrendered a fifth-round pick in 2014 and a third-rounder in 2015 to land Goc, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Known mainly as a steady faceoff guy and two-way player, Goc has 11 goals and 12 assists in 62 games with the Panthers this season. The 30-year-old German has compiled 177 points on 72 ghoals and 105 assists over 550 career games with San, Jose, Nashville and the Panthers.

Goc had won 52.8 percent of his faceoffs this season.
