Pacquiao cancels meeting with Senator Reid

WASHINGTON (AP) — Manny Pacquiao's whirlwind trip to the United States apparently will not involve a meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The champion boxer and newly elected Congressman from the Philippines was supposed to meet Reid on Monday, but a spokesman for the senator says that Pacquiao canceled due to a scheduling conflict on his end.

Pacquiao made the long trip to the United States to accept his third Fighter of the Year award from the Boxing Writers Association of America on Friday night in New York.

He was scheduled to attend the first fight at Yankee Stadium in more than three decades, when Yuri Foreman defends his junior middleweight title against Miguel Cotto on Saturday night.
