Arsenal and Manchester City agreed to a fee for midfielder Samir Nasri on Tuesday, and the transfer will be completed pending a medical and paperwork.

Nasri, 24, has played the last three years for Arsenal but did not travel with the squad for Tuesday's Champions League playoff second leg against Udinese in Italy. Arsenal won the first leg, 1-0.

"Arsenal can confirm that they have agreed terms for Samir Nasri to move to Manchester City," Arsenal posted on its website.

The French international will reportedly cost City around $40 million, but no transfer fee was announced by the clubs. Nasri scored 27 goals for Arsenal, 15 last season.

He follows Cesc Fabregas out of the London club, which has yet to score after two games this season in the English Premier League season and is in danger of failing to qualify for the Champions League.
