Bozeman, MT (SportsNetwork.com) - Quarterback Dakota Prukop faced relentless pressure from the defense in Montana State's spring football game on Saturday, but he had plenty of answers for the pass rushers.

Prukop, who will be a redshirt junior this coming season, completed 13-of-19 pass attempts for 107 yards and two touchdowns to help highlight the Sonny Holland Classic, which consisted of an offense-versus-the-defense format at Bobcat Stadium.

Jake Bleskin, the No. 2 quarterback, was 8-for-15 for 89 yards and a touchdown.

But the defensive players combined on eight sacks and 17 tackles for loss. Tyrone Fa'anono collected three sacks and fellow defensive end Devin Jeffries had two more.

"As is the case with most spring scrimmages, there were good things on both sides," Bobcats coach Rob Ash said. "I really liked the execution on both sides of the ball in game-like situations. We got plays off, we didn't line up in wrong formations or have too many men on the field or things like that. There was some excellent play on both sides of the ball."

Also, in a team vote, Prukop, senior defensive tackle Taylor Sheridan, senior receiver Mitch Griebel and junior running back Chad Newell were named team captains for the 2015 season, which begins on Sept. 3 against Division II Fort Lewis.

Last season, Montana State posted an 8-5 record, tied for second place in the Big Sky Conference and reached the FCS national playoffs before finishing with a No. 20 final ranking in The Sports Network FCS Top 25.
