Luke Charles threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns as North Carolina Pembroke beat Charlotte 45-22 on Saturday.

Charles, who has now topped 400 yards passing in consecutive games, completed 43 of 57 passes as Division II Pembroke (5-0) earned its first victory over an FCS scholarship school.

Matt Johnson connected with Mikel Hunter on a 2-yard touchdown pass about midway through the second quarter and Lee McNiell's two point conversion gave Charlotte (3-3) an 8-7 lead before the Braves scored 31 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.

Ben Decelle and B.J. Bunn each had ten receptions for Pembroke and Te'vell Williams added seven catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Bunn scored once.

Rontonio Stanley had a pair of 2-yard scoring runs in the first quarter.

C.J. Crawford hauled in two scoring passes from Matt Johnson, who finished with 275 yards and three touchdowns for Charlotte.
