The Tampa Bay Lightning signed defenseman Brian Lee to a two-year, one-way contract on Thursday.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Lee posted eight assists in 20 games for the Lightning last season after being acquired fron the Ottawa Senators on February 20 in exchange for Matt Gilroy.

He notched career-highs in games played (55), assists (15) and points (16) last season with Tampa Bay and Ottawa.

In 187 career games, the Minnesota native has compiled five goals and 31 assists. He was originally drafted by the Senators ninth overall in 2005.
