Key Biscayne, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Li Na and Agnieszka Radwanska were winners Sunday in the third round of the Sony Open.
The second-seeded Li earned a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 victory over American Madison Keys in the opening match of the day. It was also her first match of the tournament, as the Australian Open champion received a walkover win in the second round when Alisa Kleybanova was unable to take the court on Friday because of a viral illness.
Li, a semifinalist last week at Indian Wells, will next face 15th-seeded Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro, who took down 24th-seeded Estonian Kaia Kanepi 6-2, 6-1.
Radwanska, the third seed from Poland, defeated 32nd-seeded Russian Elena Vesnina 7-5, 6-3. Radwanska was last week's runner-up at Indian Wells, falling to Italy's Flavia Pennetta in the final.
Pennetta, who also took out Li last week, lost to Ana Ivanovic on Saturday.
In a pair of matchups between seeded players, No. 10 Dominika Cibulkova downed 22nd-seeded Alize Cornet, while No. 11 Caroline Wozniacki clipped 17th-seeded Sloane Stephens.
The Slovak Cibulkova slipped past Cornet of France 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, while Denmark's Wozniacki sailed to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over the American Stephens.
Despite Stephens' setback, two other Americans advanced in 29th-seeded Venus Williams and Varvara Lepchenko.
Williams outlasted Australian wild card Casey Dellacqua 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, while Lepchenko notched a 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2) triumph over Croatia's Ajla Tomljanovic.
Additionally, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina rallied past Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
The 2014 Miami champ will collect $787,000.
