Jets coach Rex Ryan agrees with GM John Idzik that QB decision will be collaborative effort
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Rex Ryan is on board with general manager John Idzik's comments that it will be a "collaborative decision" on who the New York Jets' starting quarterback will be.
Ryan says Sunday that there's no controversy surrounding the fact he won't make the final decision, and the media is making "a mountain out of a molehill" to suggest otherwise. Ryan acknowledges that he will be the one who ultimately tells Mark Sanchez or Geno Smith that they're the guy to start, but by no means is the decision "a one-man show."
While Ryan is considered by many to be in a make-or-break season, he insists that he has "100 percent support" from owner Woody Johnson and the rest of the organization.
