Tyrone Hanson scored 19 points and Jackson State defeated Grambling State 69-57 on Saturday night.

Jackson State led 34-24 at halftime and opened the second half with an 14-3 run. A three-point play by Jenniro Bush extended Jackson State's lead to 48-27 with 13:38 to play and the lead never dipped below double digits.

Grant Maxey, who has scored in double figures in five straight games, chipped in with 13 points for Jackson State, and De'Suan Dixon came off the bench to score 11 on 5 of 7 shooting.

The win for Jackson State (10-9, 6-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) avenged a loss to Grambling in last season's conference tournament.

Justin Patton and Donald Qualls each scored 14 points for Grambling (3-16, 1-6), which has lost three consecutive games and seven of its past eight.
