Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Manchester City announced on Wednesday that the club has released midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim from his contract.

The 22-year-old made his debut with the senior team four years ago in an FA Cup match against Scunthorpe United, but he has only made two other appearances on the senior level for the Citizens.

Ibrahim has spent a number of loan spells away from the Etihad Stadium including stops at Scunthorpe, NEC and Stromsgodset and he has represented Norway on a number of youth levels.
