Hannover announced Tuesday that it has signed midfielder Szabolcs Huszti from Zenit St. Petersburg on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old played for Hannover between 2006 and 2009 before making the move to Russia. He completed a medical over the weekend to finalize his return to Germany.

"It is great to be back," said Huszti. "I had a great time in Hannover and that is why I really wanted to come back here. The coach really wanted me to come back and that was obviously an important reason why I agreed.

"Since I left, the club has developed excellently and I would now like to join them in going further."

The Hungary international played 81 times and scored 17 goals during his first spell for the Reds.
