Manchester, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Manchester City announced on Friday that goalkeeper Joe Hart has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2019.

Hart established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at City in 2010 following a loan spell at Birmingham, and he has since helped the Citizens capture two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and League Cup.

"The new deal means I get to stay longer - the club's doing amazing things at the moment, we've created history and we want to keep doing that," Hart told the club's official website.

"Wanting to stay here was never going to be an issue for me - I've loved every moment since I joined. The club's growing and I've been really lucky to be part of the ride."

Hart becomes the latest player at City to commit his future to the club after Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov, Samir Nasri and David Silva each signed new deals with the defending champions.
