Hannover, Germany – Hannover midfielder Leon Andreasen tore his ACL on Wednesday and could miss the rest of the Bundesliga season, it was revealed Thursday.
Andreasen, 29, sustained the injury to his right knee in a 4-1 victory against Nurnberg. His career has been slowed in recent years by a groin injury, but in four Bundesliga matches this season, he had two goals.
The Denmark international, capped 16 times for his country, joined Hannover on loan in 2009 and made a permanent move to the club in 2010.
Andreasen will be sidelined at least six months, meaning the earliest he could return would be late March or early April. The season ends in May.
