Giants activate Beltran

The San Francisco Giants activated right day disabled list Tuesday.

Beltran has been out of action since August 7 with a strained right hand.

San Francisco acquired Beltran from the New York Mets prior to the non-waiver trade deadline. He is hitting .244 with two RBI in 11 games with the Giants after batting .289 with 15 home runs and 66 RBI for the Mets.

Beltran was not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, but is available off the bench.

San Francisco has yet to announce a corresponding roster move. Outfielder Nate Schierholtz (foot) or pitcher Jonathan Sanchez (ankle) will likely go on the DL.
