Edina Gallovits-Hall was among Friday's quarterfinal winners at the $220,000 Copa BBVA Colsanitas tennis tournament.

The Romanian Gallovits-Hall snuck past 2010 Bogota champion and Colombian crowd favorite Mariana Duque-Marino 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-2 on the red clay at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento.

Gallovits-Hall will face Spaniard Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino in Saturday's semifinals. Arruabarrena-Vecino whipped Argentine qualifier Paula Ormaechea 6-3, 6-0 in 55 minutes in Friday's nightcap.

The other semifinal will pit Hungarian Timea Babos against Russian Alexandra Panova, as Babos beat Kazakhstani qualifier Yaroslava Shvedova 6-4, 6-4 and Panova handled Italian Karin Knapp 6-4, 6-4.

There were no seeds still standing heading into the round of eight here.

This week's champion will claim $37,000.
