Springfield, MO – Steve Friesen didn't come close to matching under 68 on Friday kept him atop the leaderboard after two rounds of the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
Friesen had five birdies and a bogey at Highland Springs Country Club to move to 14-under 130, but saw his lead cut to one after 36 holes. Playing in only his second event of 2011 after missing all of 2010, Friesen is seeking his first win on tour.
He had a chance to take a larger lead into the weekend, but posted his first bogey of the tournament on No. 5 -- his back nine.
Josh Broadaway made up a lot of ground with a seven-under 65 to move to 13- under 131 overall. The 33-year-old is looking for his first win on tour after consecutive top-five finishes a few weeks ago.
Brad Adamonis (66), Gavin Coles (68), Zach Sucher (66) and Cliff Kresge (65) share third at 12-under. Of the four, only Sucher has never won on the Nationwide Tour previously, and Coles has four victories.
J.J. Killeen's bid to make it to the PGA Tour this week with a third consecutive win has come to an end after he missed the cut. He gave it a good run with a five-under 67 on Friday, but it wasn't enough to overcome an opening 74. He finished at three-under, two strokes from making the cut.
