American goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann has term contract with Everton, it was announced on Friday.

The 39-year-old was released by Wolverhampton at the end of last season, but the former Reading and Fulham netminder has been signed as a free agent to a deal that runs until January to serve as a backup to countryman Tim Howard and Slovakian Jan Mucha.

Hahnemann appeared in over 250 games for Reading between 2002-09 before playing in 40 matches for Wolves during his spell at Molineux, and he will be attempting to earn a permanent contract with the Toffees in the next few months.
