Bayer Leverkusen snatched up Bayern Munich midfielder Emre Can on Friday, signing the youngster to a four-year contract.

Can is regarded as one of the bright young talents in the Bundesliga, and he hopes his move to Leverkusen will help him secure more first-team action than he saw with last season's treble winners.

The 19-year-old appeared in just seven games for Bayern in all competitions last term, and the Germany Under-21 international is expected to have an impact on a Leverkusen side that finished last season in third place.

"Emre Can is one of the great German talents in the midfield," Leverkusen chief executive Wolfgang Holzhaeuser said.

"We are firmly convinced that he will be able to help us significantly in the coming years."
