Eastern Illinois to kick off 2018 schedule at Arkansas

(STATS) - Eastern Illinois will open its 2018 season at Arkansas.

The matchup is scheduled for Sept. 1 in Fayetteville. It has caused the Ohio Valley Conference program to adjust its two other nonconference dates, with a game at Illinois State switched to Sept. 8 and a home game against Indiana State moved to Sept. 15.

EIU coach Kim Dameron is an Arkansas native and played for the Razorbacks in the late 1970s and early '80s as a wide receiver and defensive back. He began his coaching career as an Arkansas graduate assistant in 1983.
