Duke destroys Western Michigan

No. 7 Duke had no trouble knocking the rust off day break and running its NCAA-best winning streak to 92 straight conference home games.

Seth Curry scored 22 points to lead five Duke players in double figures and the Blue Devils cruised to a 110-70 win over Western Michigan on Friday night, scoring more points than they had in over a year.

Austin Rivers added 20 points, Quinn Cook scored 16, Josh Hairston had 13 and Tyler Thornton 12 for Duke (11-1), which extended its winning streak to four games since a loss to Ohio State on November 29.

Matt Stainbrook scored 18 points to lead Western Michigan (5-8) while Demetrius Ward had 16 and Hayden Hoerdemann chipped in 12. The Broncos had a four-game winning streak snapped. They arrived at Cameron Indoor Stadium 5-1 in their previous six games after starting the season 0-6.

It was Duke's highest offensive output since a 110-58 win over Colgate on November 19, 2010.
