New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Guerrero of the Los Angeles Dodgers was named Monday as the National League Rookie of the Month for April.
The 28-year-old Cuban defector batted .423 with five home runs, 13 RBI and a .429 on-base percentage in 13 games. He had the highest average among qualifying NL rookies.
Guerrero's teammate, Joc Pederson, was among the other players who received votes after hitting .298 with four homers, 10 RBI and a .461 on-base percentage in 21 games.
