The Phoenix Coyotes re-signed restricted free-agent forward Mikkel Boedker to a two-year contract on Saturday.

Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are pleased to sign Mikkel prior to the beginning of training camp," said Coyotes GM Don Maloney. "Mikkel is an important player for us and having him under contract makes us a better team."

Boedker recorded seven goals and 26 points while participating in all 48 games for the Coyotes during the lockout-shortened campaign. He also collected 21 goals and 33 points in 29 games for Lukko Rauma of the Finnish Elite League.

The 23-year-old native of Denmark was taken eighth overall in the 2008 draft by Phoenix. He has totaled 34 goals and 61 assists in 256 NHL appearances in five seasons, along with nine points in 20 postseason contests.

"I'm thrilled to sign a new contract with the Coyotes," said Boedker. "We have a great team and coaching staff and I'm really looking forward to this season."
