MINNEAPOLIS - The Calgary Flames have asked defenceman Robyn Regehr to waive his no-trade clause to complete a deal with Buffalo, according to a source.
The veteran has spent his entire 11-year NHL career with the Flames.
Regehr has two years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of US$4.02 million and will take time to consider whether he'll accept the deal.
The 31-year-old had 17 points (2-15) in 79 games last season.
Calgary is a team in need of some salary cap relief with roughly $58 million tied up in 19 players for next season.
