Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose returned to the starting lineup Monday against the Atlanta Hawks after missing the past five games with back spasms.

Rose has been battling the ailment since February 6, when he left a lopsided win over New Jersey after playing only 11 minutes. He then played just 22 minutes in a rout of New Orleans two days later before missing the last five contests.

The Bulls are second in the Eastern Conference with a 25-8 record, after managing to go 3-2 in five games without Rose. In 23 games this season, Rose is averaging 22.0 points, 7.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
