B's reward Boychuk with 3-year extension

Boston, MA – The Boston Bruins on Tuesday signed defenseman year contract extension through the 2014-15 season.

The 28-year-old Boychuk is in the midst of his second full season with the Bruins. He has recorded three goals and seven assists with a plus-23 rating in 52 games.

A member of the Bruins' blueline corps during last year's run to the Stanley Cup, Boychuk joined the organization via trade from Colorado in June 2008.

Boychuk has totaled 11 goals and 41 points in 177 career games, all but four with Boston.
