On the first day of free agency, the Cleveland Browns reeled in talented outside linebacker Paul Kruger.

Now, they've added Desmond Bryant.

The 6-foot-6 defensive lineman agreed to terms on a five-year contract Wednesday.

"With the additions of Paul and Desmond, we believe that we have significantly improved our defense overall, particularly our front seven," said Browns CEO Joe Banner. "This was one of our goals entering free agency, and we are thrilled that we were able to accomplish that. Like Paul, Desmond gives us someone with great size and athleticism for his position, and an ability to rush the passer, the key to any successful defense."

Bryant, 27, spent the past four seasons with the Oakland Raiders and missed only one game. In 2012, he recorded a career-high 48 tackles and four sacks.

The Harvard product has career totals of 124 tackles and 11 1/2 sacks in 63 games (18 starts).
