Exam results on the pitching shoulder of Braves starter Tommy Hanson were negative.

Hanson received a cortisone shot and will rest in hopes of starting Tuesday's game against San Francisco.

Hanson, who gave up eight hits and a season-high seven runs over 3 1/3 innings in a road loss to the New York Mets on Saturday, is 1-3 with an 8.10 ERA since the All-Star break.

The Braves announced the right-hander will miss his scheduled start this Friday against the Chicago Cubs. Mike Minor is slated to start Friday.

Hanson, who had a stint on the disabled list in June due to right shoulder tendinitis, is 11-7 with a 3.60 ERA in 22 starts this season.

The Braves, who hold the National League wild card lead, are already without starter Jair Jurrjens. A 12-game winner this year, Jurrjens is out with a right knee strain. He's eligible to be activated off the DL next Wednesday.
