Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Luis Perez will have season-ending Tommy John surgery, the team announced Monday.

The 27-year-old left-hander tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow on July 7 in an 11-9 win over the Chicago White Sox and was placed on the 15-day disabled list after the game.

Perez will be the second Blue Jays pitcher to undergo the procedure, which will be performed on Tuesday in Pensacola, FL. Kyle Drabek also had the surgery in June.

Perez has made 35 relief appearances for the Blue Jays this season, pitching to a 2-2 record with a 3.43 ERA.
