The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that they have agreed to terms with Finnish goaltender Antti Raanta on a one-year contract.

The 24 year old posted a record of 21-10-11 with a 1.85 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage in 45 games last season with Assat Pori of SM-liiga in Finland. He also had five shutouts. Raanta was the league leader in goals- against average and save percentage.

In addition to leading his team to the championship, he was named as the Most Valuable Player of the regular season and playoffs and was named the best goaltender in the league.

Other teams such as the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Minnesota Wild also held interest in Raanta.
