J.J. Avila scored 21 points with 11 rebounds and John Gillon added 20 with three 3-pointers and Colorado State knocked off Missouri State 76-61 to advance in the Great Alaska Shootout.

Colorado State next faces Pacific, which defeated Alaska-Anchorage on Wednesday, in a semifinal game on Friday.

Colorado State (4-0) used a 13-2 first-half run — including 3-pointers by Daniel Bejarano and Gillion — to build a 13-point advantage and led the Bears 29-19 at intermission. Missouri State went nearly four minutes without a basket and went 8 of 25 from the floor.

Missouri State (2-2) cut the deficit to five with 12:23 left, but Colorado State went on a 16-4 run — sparked by Joe De Ciman's 3-pointer — and held the Bears off down the stretch.

Dorrian Williams led Missouri State with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Tyler McCullough had 12 points and Shawn Roundtree added 10.
