Barcelona, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Dani Alves has joined Barcelona's lengthy injury list after the defender picked up a calf injury on international duty this week.

Barcelona is missing Lionel Messi to a string of well-documented muscle issues as well as goalkeeper Victor Valdes due to a torn calf tendon, and Alves will join them on the sidelines after a test confirmed that the Brazil international picked up a soleus muscle tear on his return to Catalonia.

"Tests carried out on Thursday morning have confirmed that Dani Alves has a slight tear of the right leg soleus muscle," a club statement said. "He will be out for between seven and 10 days."

Alves will miss Saturday's La Liga match against Granada as well as next week's Champions League trip to Ajax, but he could return for Barcelona's league game at Athletic Bilbao on Dec. 1.
