Potential 2016 candidate Webb a no-show at Iowa stop

It's not often that you show up to a meet and greet with a potential presidential candidate in Iowa and don't get the chance for a photo-op and a handshake.

But the seven people in Perry, Iowa who showed up to meet former Virginia Senator and possible 2016 candidate Jim Webb left empty-handed.

Webb never appeared for his scheduled afternoon appearance at The Firehouse Ice Cream and Sandwich shop.

Joe Stanley, Webb’s field director who was making stops with him, later explained their schedule had changed and they went to the ice cream shop early before heading to an interview down the street.

At a later event in Des Moines, Webb  apologized to Fox News for the miscommunication.

But the ice cream shop attendees were not happy.

Over an hour and 15 minutes after the appointed time, all seven trickled out.

“He had his chance. He won't get to meet me," said the first woman to leave at the 45-minute late mark.

As another man left with a to-go milkshake, Fox asked if this would impact his decision to caucus for Webb. He replied, "this doesn't help."

“In Iowa you have to show up. He didn't show up," said the last man to leave.
