Coming soon: Nonstop flights from U.S. to Cuba

Cuban and American officials announced Wednesday night they have reached an agreement to bring back commercial flights between the two nations.

They reached the deal one day before the one-year anniversary of President Obama's statement that the U.S. and Cuba would begin normalizing relations after a 50-year hiatus, according to the Associated Press.

In November, Cuba's head of North American Affairs had said he expected the governments to reach an agreement on mail service, air travel and other trade-related issues by the end of the year.
