Miracle-working doctors saved Steve Nixon's life after his heart stopped 28 times.

The father of three had a heart attack while riding his motorcycle and swerved into an oncoming car.

As paramedics treated him at the crash scene, Steve's heart stopped a number of times - but they managed to get it going again with a blast from their defibrillators.

Steve, 44, was airlifted to hospital where his heart stopped another 23 times.

Doctors finally managed to fit a pacemaker in Nixon's heart to stabilize it and repair a torn artery.

"I am blessed to be here to today to tell the tale," Nixon said. "The medical staff pulled me through."
