Following the success of Netflix's "Making a Murderer," other networks pounced on the true-crime craze, and we're finally starting to see some of those projects come to light.
CBS has released the trailer for "The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey," and from the looks of it, internet sleuths will do their darndest to crack the cases from their couches just as they did with the case of Steven Avery in "Making a Murderer."
The six-hour miniseries examines one of the most high-profile murder cases in American history, the killing of six-year-old children's beauty pageant contestant JonBenet Ramsey in her home in Boulder, Colorado in 1996. Police initially suspected JonBenet's parents were guilty, but they were cleared by DNA evidence in 2008. The case remains unsolved.
"The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey" will examine the facts and reunite the original investigators of the case 20 years after JonBenet's murder.

True crime is hot on television. "Making a Murderer," which looked at possible police corruption in the murder conviction of Steven Avery, will air new episodes after becoming one of Netflix's top shows. FX's "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" was a dramatic retelling of the O.J. Simpson murder case, and will have its name called several times at this year's Emmys. NBC is also getting into the true-crime game, with a "Law & Order"-branded docuseries focusing on the Menendez Brothers case. JonBenet Ramsey isn't the only case CBS will be working on; the network is also developing a scripted limited series based on the kidnapping of Patty Hearst.
"The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey" will air in three two-hour installments, premiering on Sunday, Sept. 18, continuing on Monday, Sept. 19 and concluding on Sunday, Sept. 25.
