Florida woman, 23, dies after being thrown from ATV at party

A 23-year-old Florida girl died Sunday after she was tossed from an ATV at a friend’s birthday party, The Tampa Bay Times reported.

Jessica Oras, from Brooksville, which is north of Tampa, was apparently driving the vehicle with her cousin in the backseat. The pair reportedly ran over a bump and the two were tossed into the air. Oras died at the scene.

"I just had a bad feeling," Rachel Gernaat, 19, the girl who was on the back of the ATV, told the paper.

Hernando Today reported that several people at the party on a local pond drove these vehicles and drank beer. A preliminary investigation showed no apparent foul play and no criminal charges are expected.
