DETROIT – Two former University of Toledo basketball players are returning to court for the last sentences given to ex-athletes in a sports bribery scandal at the Ohio school.

Kashif Payne and Keith Triplett are hoping to be placed on probation on Tuesday in Detroit federal court, the same punishment given to two other former basketball players and three ex-football players.

They've all pleaded guilty to conspiracy, admitting they accepted cash and other benefits from a Detroit-area gambler from 2004 through 2006. The former Rockets supplied information to the gambler or altered their performance to affect the final score.

Payne got less than $2,000 in cash and groceries. Triplett received or delivered to other players between $2,000 and $5,000.

Triplett was the leading scorer during three of his four seasons at Toledo.
